I went in today for a check engine light and for toms to look at my heater. Toms told me it was going to be 540 dollars for diagnostics, not to fix it but looks at it. You guys are nuts and i would not recommend you to anyone
Hi Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. You had scheduled an appointment for several concerns, a Check Engine Light, an HVAC mode-door issue, and a brake health check. Each of these items requires dedicated diagnostic time from one of our specialists so we can accurately identify the root cause and provide a reliable, guaranteed fix. Our diagnostic pricing reflects the time, expertise, and equipment involved in doing that accurately. When you arrived and we explained the diagnostic charges, you chose not to move forward and requested that we cancel the appointment. Because of this, your vehicle was never brought into the shop and no assessment or work was performed. That said, we fully acknowledge that we could have done a better job communicating these charges and the value behind them before your visit. Transparency at drop-off is important, but so is transparency at scheduling. We see this as an opportunity to improve our communication so expectations are clear from the start. We strive to provide technically accurate solutions and an efficient, trustworthy experience for every customer, and we apologize for falling short in this instance. If you would ever like to discuss further or give us another opportunity to serve you, we would be glad to help. Tom’s Auto Center (608) 838-3900
